Dialysis of Protein Solutions Protocol
Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology Protocols >> Dialysis of Protein Solutions Protocol
1. cut out more dialysis tubing than needed for each sample (to accommodate expansion of the tubing)
2. soak dialysis tubing in PBS
clip one end tightly, add the sample, clip the other end tightly
3. dialyze in the cold room in ~1L of PBS, while stirring gently
4. change the dialysis buffer before leaving
5. dialyze overnight
6. change dialysis buffer again the next morning
7. (it takes about 5 hours for one dialysis to be complete)
8. spin the dialyzed, resuspended pellet again to make sure no particulate matter in there; if there is, transfer only the soluble fraction into another tube
9. run the desired fractions onto a gel
